I just ate my tea then decided to check my measurements...

Im pretty sure that straight after drinking a litre of water, eating tea and having a coffee would not help the situation for measurements.. but i decided that this was the time for me to check my measurements because then i wouldnt get too upset if they hadnt changed too much...

And im glad

I have put on an inch around my bust.. (must be all the chicken im eating with all those hormones) some might think this is fantastic news, and i guess if you have always been small in that area then it would be great, however, i have struggled with big tits for as long as i can remember, i spend at least $60 on ONE bra!!! I cannot get bras on special, they dont EVER have my size in the catalogues.. cannot buy them at the warehouse or anything! GRRRRR!!!

anyway the only inch i have lost is half around my hips (yeah thanks i already have no friggen hips) and HALF and inch from my abdomen!! this is my problem area! If i could afford a tummy tuck i would! honestly!! but this is fantastic news for me.. as i have been very lazy lately with not getting out for a walk or doing anything other than eat, i am glad that this has come off without any effort at all!! crap, if i hadve done this system when i first got it then I would be to a size i am happy with! but noooooo good old moe has to procrastinate my way through life... urrgghhhhhh! maybe this will be a good lesson learned!

maybe

So i just wanted to give you a quick brief run down of phase 2

it goes a little like this

breakfast          1 protein serving + 1 fruit OR 1 starch

snack               1 protein serving

lunch                1 protein serving + unlimited vegetables/salad

snack               1 protein serving

tea                   1 protein serving + unlimited vegetables/salad

snack               1 protein serving

easy enough?! oh here are some interesting things for you to know and try to remember

*you can have unlimited salad or vegetables with breakfast if you like
*fruit MUST be limited to 1 serve at breakfast ONLY! fruit contains too much sugar to be consumed in the latter part of the day and must be eaten with a protein serve!
* do not go to bed hungry - protein keeps your metabolism burning
*aim for at least 10,000 steps per day
*drink at least 2 litres of water per day
*bodytrim suggests you incorperate starchy carbs during weight loss with breakfast!

and finally you MUST AVOID the following during this phase; pasta, rice, potatoes, noodles, pastries, dairy, ice cream, chocolate, sweets, lollies, confectionery, biscuits, non-diet drinks, fruit juice, nuts, peas, carrots, corn (max 2-3 times per week)
If you feel like any of these foods have them on your free day only!!

I will explain your free day in my next post.. oooo ooo ooo and the zig zag system...

this just gives you some reading for now!

oh during this phase your primary goal is to set the body up to predominately draw on body fat stores for fuel - hence low carb, low fat.

This phase is goal specific! you might use it for 3 weeks to get a bit trimmer or for 3 to 4 months for a complete overhaul.. the choice is yours. you are not a robot, so why eat and live like one?

ive talked to 20 million people about this diet now...

lol anyone who knows me will know how i like to exaggerate some things... some of the people who i have talked to about this diet have said to me that they are going to just change the way they eat... eating more often and less..

now i want to say that if you dont have any weight loss because you have done this then i really dont need any stigma with this.. i have said exactly what i have eaten and recited things from my trusty wee book, but if you are going to be eating the wrong kind of foods then you cannot expect to be losing weight...

carbs are the devil!!! im sure in one of my previous posts i taught you all about carbs and how bad they are and what they do to your body so continuing to eat them constantly then you cannot expect any changes.. sorry!

anywhoo.. i know some people have tried this now. so in a day or so when i get time i will intorduce you into phase 2.. probably along with some more of those fun facts!! hehe

and to those who are dead set on actually trying this and my info is not enough i would be more than happy to lend out or maybe even copy off my dvds.. everything in my book is in these dvds!!! exciting stuff huh???

so im really eager to get back on the scales but i am being disciplined and will wait until at least monday to see how i am going! thinking i might take a free day this weekend, or i might just leave it until next weekend! hmmmmmmmmm... to be naughty and have a drink or not?!

biggest things to remember

please remember these very important things

eat at least every hour, and wait no more than 3 hours (protein only. the bars are great because it makes you feel like you are just eating chocolate and not even really dieting)

drink 2-3 litres of water daily!

walk at least 10,000 steps per day (30 min walk included in this - and this is honestly the only exercise you need to be doing)

Time to Carb detox.. and Why!

So like most normal people (and its not that often that i fit myself into the 'normal person' category) i was afraid of having to go without potatoes, rice, pasta and BREAD!!!
I did okay, and now have gone without all these things for 7 days!!! and guess what... no cravings for them at all! i often look at bread and wonder what it used to taste like, it seems that long ago now!

this is phase 1 and if just for 3 days! easy enough?!!?!?

1 carb deletion
this is the primary role of phase 1, this process opens the door for fat burning.  By eating protein ONLY for 3 days the body is forced to start to use stored body fat for feul. This is CRITICAL for weight loss and sets up phase 2

2 fast weight loss
weight loss is as much a psychological battle as it is a physical one. there are a lot of people that give up because they would rather not try than fail.  they are paralysed by the fear of failure.  however when they see a result fast it gives them hope.  they feel like a winner and decide to give it a go! (and this is SSSOOOO true)
fact - for every gram of carbohydrate you eat the body retains approx 3g of water. when a person eats protein only for 3 days they will lose approx 2-3 kg!

3 bye bye cravings
by eating protein only for 3 days sugar spikes and blood sugar levels come under control. this stops craving.  there are no longer the highs to experience the lows.  regardless of chocolate addiction or a lollies fetish, cravings are gone in 3 days of protein only eating, thanks to the power of hormones and the regulation of blood sugar. sugar peaks and valleys cause cravings, nothing else

4 regulated insulin
because there are no sugar spikes there are no insulin hits.  this sets the stage for the releasing hormone glucagon to play a role, and the process of using fat for feul to begin

5 elevated mood
there are no sugar highs to experience the lows. with regulated blood sugar people experience an improved and more consistant mood state

6 more energy
people often experience the sensation of having more energy.  this is because the body is now drawing on body fat stores and is no longer reliant on periodic sugar hits for feul. the energy source is now more consistant.

7 never hungry
protein makes you feel full, so you are never hungry.  protein based snacks ensure you can easily stick to your portion sizes and feel full.  carbs make you crave more carbs an hour later because of the insulin response and subsequent blood sugar fluctuations.
NOTE. you can have a protein serve up to every hour if you wish. this will actually stimulate your metabolism because of the thermic effect of protein.  do not be afraid to have extra protein snacks during the day!!

I am or used to be one of those people who was afraid of food! everytime i picked up anything and put it to my mouth, it would go straight to my stomach! yuck! so i very rarely ate! This was not good for my kids to see! now they see their mum eating and eating and just eating! i seem to just be eating all day! which is good, because i know what to eat and when i know that its not going to go straight to my belly now! i am not afraid!!! YAY!!

Here is a basic run down of what to eat in the phase 1 stage! remember its only for 3 days... and trust me, being someone that very rarely sticks to anything, this for me was even easy!

Phase 1 kick starts your body into weight loss by depleting carbohydrate stores and regulating insulin levels. this is a protein only stage, remember 3+3=fat free.

Protein serving sizes for females: main meals should be 100gms or less

and snacks 50-100gm

A main meal portion is approximately the size of your palm

1 breakfast    1 protein serving

2 snack         1 protein serving

3 breakfast    1 protein serving

4 snack         1 protein serving

5 dinner        1 protein serving

6 snack         1 protein serving

Note: all carb foods including salad and vegetables are not recommended during this stage

Avoid: pasta, rice, potatoes, noodles, pastries, dairy, ice cream, chocolate, sweets, lollies, confectionery, biscuits, non diet soft drinks, fruit juice, nuts and all vegetables and salads!!!

It is recommended that you take a multi vitamin with omega 3 along with a fibre supplement

you can use protein powders or bars for snacks only, never main meals...

Can I say shit in this thing?

Right well I went to bed at 8pm, had a long day today so thought i was tired, but alas, all this extra energy i find i now have, plus the lack of night time fluids ie a nice cold beer, Im still awake, and because my other half sleeps early and up even earlier, well long story short there is no point me staying in bed.. hehe

Okay Ive had some pretty shitty things happen to me in my life, met some pretty shitty people who have said some pretty shitty things to me and made me feel,... well, you know, shitty! I mean where did that fun loving confident girl Moe go??

Lets find her...

So first you should know some facts about weight loss. (if you didnt already know)
*wherever you put weight on first, is the last place you will lose it
*walking is the best exercise if you want to lose weight, because it is sustainable long term. FYI walking also promotes the development of mitochondria,  your body's fat burning furnaces
*sleep plays an important role in weight loss and maintenance, lack of sleep boosts the concentration of a hormone that increases hunger, therefore you are more likely to eat and the quality of what you eat is more likely to be high in sugar and high in carbohydrates
*Caffine has actually been shown to increase lipolysis (the use of fat stores for energy) it stimulates your metabolism and is a appetite suppressant (ps dont drink too much, no more than 5 cups a day, unless you want to spend more time than not on the toilet)

are you bored of the facts yet?

Your metabolic rate is without question the most important factor in weight loss and should be the number 1 priority in any weight loss system, and, if you are like me when i had kids, i lost my metabolism (along with my dignity and privacy) i mean do you remember the days when you could just eat whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted and NEVER did you put on an inch of fat?
Eating every 2-3 waking hours is the most powerful weapon you have when it comes to weight loss and ramping up your metabolism. This equates to 6 servings a day and ensures that your body will never go into starvation mode.

Our bodies are designed to store fat for survival. At any given moment the body is looking for a reason to store fat for a coming famine. YOUR job is not to give it a reason too... Simple huh?

the solution = small meals every 2-3 hours!
the 3 hour rule : eat at least every 3 hours and up to every hour (shit youll never go hungry again)

oh and you better drink 2-3 litres of water a day.. just to help with the bladder problems that seem to be just waiting for me around that big 3 0 corner

For a weight loss program to be effective it MUST do 2 things

1 you must see fast  results
2 it must be sustainable long term

I was going to write more about carb detox but im sorry guys i will leave that until tomorrow because its a WHOLE lot of typing for me to do!!!

To motivate you more to want to do this ill let you in on some weights and goals of mine

Ive been about 69kg for about 6 years now.  I am 167cm tall! my BMI for this is in the healthy range (only just) and that wasnt really my cup of tea.
When I started the system my weight was up to 71kg, now this takes me into the overweight range, I tell you -I threw my book down when it told me that I was overweight! stupid friggen book, what would you know!

I myself am now into day 6 (sounds all spoofy aye, shouldve just said doing this diet for 6 days) and today I weighed in at 67kg! I am yet to take measurements to see if they have changed!

oh and I asked my other half tonight (all excitedly about how much id lost) how much HE thought i had lost... and he informs me that i have lost 4.5kg! How did he know that? I guess he does lift me up every now and then.. Or did he somehow in the course of 1 day learn to read minds? Or telepathically go through my cellphone to see what I had text a few people today? I never thought it was noticeable,.. Those scales wouldnt lie to me... would they?!!?!?!?!?

Okay.. so this is blog number one!!

A quick run down of who I am and why I decided to do this blog!

Okay so I am Moe, This year i am going to be the big 3 0... GULP!!!

Not too long after I had baby number 4 (my darling daughter) I was diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) and I hated it!! Long periods, sore most the time and the WORST thing was holding on to belly FAT!! ick!  If anyone has this you may be able to relate.. I CANNNOT no matter what I do get rid of what they like to call baby fat! I mean c'mon, my baby is almost 4, I can't blame her for this anymore, can I??

I tried Pilates, which i should add I enjoyed and did get a little bit firmer, but still the same weight and not too many noticable changes.

I tried not eating.. well everyone should know thats just not good for you! and I was just tired and shirty all the time.

I tried Vibra-training.. meh, as fun as the guy was, I didnt see any noticeable results in myself...

I got myself a membership at the gym, well I went for a bit, got a little fitter, still the same weight, and yet again no noticeable visable results!

I got really really stressed, and the weight seemed to fall off me.. BUT we ALL know this is just NOT healthy AT ALL!!! (and when i got happy again it allll come back, sigh)

Sooo one day while sitting in the hospital waiting rooms (damn kids) I open up a magazine and see one of those ads, you know the ones 'money back guarantee' 'bla bla bla' as sceptical as i was, I memorized the number to call them.
I got home and thought Stuff it... so I picked up the phone... next thing you know Ive ordered the system, if I dont like it I can send it back in 10 days... sounded like a great idea, in theory! you see, i can get very unmotivated at the best of times, I have a plan with someting then i get bored!

Well in 4 days, like promised, it arrived, a book, a pedometer, a measuring tape(my worst nightmare) and a set of 4 dvds...

And then that was it.. I read my book, then it sat in the drawer for 2 years almost!

Well this year was MY year.. time to be nicer to myself! and get rid of this excess weight i keep talking about getting rid of! I mean c'mon, 30 soon!! its going to be impossible for me to get back to a nice weight i myself am happy with.. or so I thought!

Soooo the other day I pulled it out of the drawer...
AAAAAHHHHH BODYTRIM... thats what it was called!

I skimmed through the book.. thats right, I am not allowed to eat any fruit or vegies for 3 whole days.. how can that work if you want to lose weight?
I have to eat 6 whole meals a day? how can that work if you want to lose weight?
Oh but hang on... I AM allowed to keep drinking my coffee!!! and yes after a week or so of being on the system I get a FREE DAY... (who has ever heard of this on a diet?)

I get out the dreaded tape measure... ha im not going to tell you what my measurements were... I weighed myself and worked out my BMI.. hmmm i remember thinking to myself, i really wasnt very nice to myself over christmas was i?!

I went off to the supermarket and did my shop... it consisted of Protein Powder (one with 70gm per 100gm of protein in it) shaved ham, salmon, protein bars and those up and go type drinks, stuff like that!
I got home and opened the book..

ahahahahahhahahaahaha sorry you will have to wait until next blog to find out more!!!
